Hi.
I am going to look at a 2005 1.4 HDi C3 this week for my daughter who has just passed her test, and learned to drive in a C3. I am a little concerned because the mileage is around 145000 miles, and believe the cambelt needs changing at 150000. Can anyone give me ballpark figure for this work at a garage? I live in france, so it will not be that relevant, but give me an idea of whether I have another €500 to spend on the car soon, making it overpriced!
Thanks for any advice.

The timing belt kit (belt, idler and tensioner) costs around £70 from euro car parts, but also consider changing the water pump - its easy while the belt is off and that part is about £40. At high mileage, if its not been done already, consider a new TVD (Crank Pulley) as you have to remove this anyway and they are prone to fail- costs around £60.pogo wrote:Hi.

The alternator drive belt for £10 and its tensioner at £35 are also options to change while you are in the area.
I don't know the book time, but 2 hours as a minimum, more if you do the water pump because the coolant needs refilling.
