I have a 2004 c3 1.4 8 valve lx can I test the glow plugs while still in the car and and also do I have a warning light for the glow plugs

Hi
You can test the resistance of each glow plug after disconnecting them from the electrical loom. Access from the rear of the engine after removing air cleaner box and associated pipework.
The resistance check will show open, short and failed glow plugs.
Changing them is not recommended
But, these glow plug questions often come with no symptoms and lots of assumptions.
The glow plugs in the C3 HDi engines are often only used in post heat mode for emission control. Difficult starting is not going to be a pre-heat problem unless you are in some serious minus Celsius not often found in the UK.
So yes, you have the glow plug lamp but you will probably never see it in the lifetime of the car.

Thanks for the 2 replies from what has been said about removing glow plugs I think I will leave things as they are the car starts after a few turns so it might be something else
