Hi

My glow plug relay is faulty it’s a magna relay. I recently had my glow plugs changed and the Citroen garage has told me it’s faulty.

The problem is I’ve tired a hitachi aftermarket one and I get a engine fault p1352
I’ve tried another brand which I can’t remember but get the same fault.
But with the original magna theres no fault at the moment.

The reason why I haven’t bought a OE part is I’m struggling in finding one I can change it myself but the garage is trying to charge me like 120 pound for a 5 min job.

Has anybody else had this problem or is there a way round it so the warning doesn’t come on when connecting a non OE part.

Cheers

Hi

Your car is listed as the 2002 model and it is not a five minute job to change the glow plug relay on that model.
Even changing the glow-plugs is discouraged. It can be more of a problem to the engine to break them than leave them where they are.

Citroen should have changed the relay that the same time (no engine restart) as the glow plugs.
Bad glow plugs can damage the relay and a bad relay can damage the glow plugs, so they should both be changed is giving trouble.

You can often get glow-plug/pre-heating or post-heating faults that cause no symptoms, particularly with the 2002 - 2005 DV4 engines.

The car is a 2011 model don’t know why it’s got 2002 - 2005. The problem is it won’t let me use any aftermarket part. Even tho it’s to the same spec.. ?

You select the vehicle at registration so others can see what car and engine your question applies to.

You can edit your 'car bio' here

Fit the OEM part yourself?
You can add an avatar to your account - Avatar or change your vehicle details - Car Bio or even add a signature to your posts - Signature. But this is not all you can do in the User Control Panel :)
