Hi

My 61 plate 1.4hdi C3 is starting to concern me. I always fill the car to the brim and let it use most of the fuel before doing so. But i am finding that the car does around 300 miles in the first half of the tank but only 160-170 in the last half before turning the fuel light on. last night i left for work with 4 bars out of 12, 50 miles later the low fuel light came on...! anyone have any suggestion? its still under warranty so should i book it in?
thanks

The sensor for fuel doesn't include the fuel filler neck and pipe, so you are over filling the fuel system which could explain the non-linearity of the gauge.

Advice for filling is to stop adding fuel at the first click of the pump, but even at this point, you may have more that a tanks worth of fuel in the system because some is in the pipe connected to the tank.
