Whenever I've tried draining the fuel filter at the recommended intervals nothing has drained out at all, neither water or diesel just get a short gurgling noise and then nothing even after completely removing the stopcock. Can anyone explain is this normal if the car doesn't do many miles or is it blocked or something? Many thanks in advance

Do not remove the valve.

You may have damaged it now.

Replace with a new one and only give it one turn to drain the water.

Do you mean there might be an airlock? This was a while ago when I last attempted the filter draining procedure described in the haynes manual
