Hi All

My 59 plate 1.4 HDI Airdream+ has misbehaved the last few days.

Yesterday after work it cranked for ages before starting, had to try a few times to get it to start, normally it is spot on & starts instantly. It behaved it self until this afternoon when I went to start it after using it this morning. It started & idled for around 5 to 10 seconds then cut out. It then took a few attenpts to start with lots of cranking over.

I read the fault logs back via the lexia & there are around 100 FA58 errors in the log. My Lexia/Diagbox just says theis is an unknown fault. Any ideas?

I did go though a big puddle on Thursday night.....

Hi

Poor starting on the diesels is usually due to a bad, or several bad injectors. after checking the cranking speed is high enough (battery/starter), which sounds it is :) .

Citroen C3 leakoff tests post has some information about the leakoff tests for a diesel injector and how to preform them.

You can attach the diagbox screenshots by following these instructions if you have some diagbox screens.

One other bit of info I just thought of. For a few months if I squeeze the priming pump a few times I could see a bit of air in the fuel that then passed. I haven't tried it today after it's struggle to start...........if an injector was playing up would this be the cause of the air or maybe I have a fuel leak!!

Just went out & gave the primer a good pump, tons of air in there & I can hear some form of air leak bubbling for a while after I primed it. Sounds like I have a leak on the low pressure side. I suppose it could also be an injector passing too (?) Will remove the air filter box for a look tomorrow!

Took the airfilter housing out & found one of the pipes rather covered in diesel. It seemed to have a one way valve in line with it. I cleaned it up & used two spring clips out of my washing machine spares to give a better seal. Pictures are after my fix. I will replace the pipe at some point

There is a clear pipe in your photos. This is unusual and doesn't look like the classic black plastic pipes that Citroen use on their engines.

I would say, someone else has been there before you, changed parts with the wrong thing and now you don't know what else they have botched.

That clear pipe is original as far as I am aware. I bought the car 3 years old. Does anybody know of a source or the P/N of the one way valves that are in line. They appear to fit on 4mm pipe.

Do you have a photo of the engine bay showing that valve you are looking for?

The pipes come complete as sets that include the connectors and valves.

The diagram shows the fuel supply pipes, do any of them refer to the set you need?

Is it attached to that clear pipe that looks out of place?

If you can pick the number of the pipe set, I can match that to a part number.

You can't get the parts of the pipe sets individually.

It's item 15 I need. Just had another look & found another hole where it clips to the rocker cover. I have been quotes £140 & £150 from Citroen dealerships. E-bay sells new pats for £25 to £55 but there are two variants. I bought one years ago as there was a nasty kink in mine, went to fit it & everything was OK apart from where it fitted to the fuel pump. It was too small. Not sure what the P/N was of the one I got & don't know which variant fits my car.

Can anyone tell me what teh Citroen P/N is for my car (AG59FZB)

Cheers
