Hi to all,
I have citroen c3 1.4 HDI 2008 with DV4TD diesel engine.
Any one if can help me with error code P1403 combined with P0087. While driving check engine light show up, but everything is normal, the engine work and speed up normally. Previously I had P0087 and P1351, but I change glow plugs and relay and errors disappear. Now I am interested what does it mean P1403 and what could cause this error.
Thank you.

P1403 check operation of the EGR system.

P0087 is not connected to exhaust, it is a fuel pressure fault.

Thank you for reply,
Yesterday I dismounted the egr valve, clean up and check it. It seems that work properly, connected to the vacuum pump the valve is opening, when disconnected is closing. The cleaning liquid does not leaking through valve when is closed. Just I noticed that the membrane is a little loose when I blow to the egr vacuum pipe.
Is there something else to check connected to the error code P1403?
Maybe the problem could be on electric valve who control the vacuum pipe of the egr.
How to check whole egr system?

These valves do fail, they are electronic, so you can remove it to test, or use lexia to test it for operation in situ.

Access to the valve is not great and there are several pipes that could have become damaged or disconnected. You can use a MightyVac type of tool (here) to generate vacuum while you test (so the engine is not running).

But sometimes, when you have checked all the pipes are secure and the electrical plug is OK on the valve, its just easier to change the electrical valve (1628LQ here). These are quite low on the engine and do have regular failure.

Having Lexia can prove the ECU to valve but without it there is not an easy way to test the ECU.

The 1628LQ valve that can often give problems on the Citroen C3

You can't do one test to check the whole system, but you have already done the start of it. There are several distinct operations like ECU, vacuum, exhaust system and each part needs its own testing/checking.

If you have not found the EGR electrical valve yet, its is behind the engine where the white arrow is pointing.

You will find it easier to remove the air filter box to see it, even then it's not easy to get at

The 16v has two of these valves, identical but the 8v only needs one

But after writing all that, I see yours is a post -2006 model that can have the electronic EGR valve and not a vacuum system?

So you don't have Vacuum EGR, its all electronic.

Please confirm which you have :D

Thanks for reply,
So, you can see on the pictures the model. It is EGR with vacuum controlled by electric valve (or DPFE sensor, part no. 1628zt). Today I am trying to find how to test it. So, please help, otherwise I will to service to fix it, but it will cost me much more.

I faund the problem, it was electric valve. I fix it with cleaning it inside with breaker cleaner. Spray few times in the pipes, menualy connect the relay to accu and put on/off. After cleaning replaced the small sponge filter and that it.
