Recently on my 04 C3 diesel 1.4 I have had the engine temperature running gauge on the dash taking a long time to hit three bars. Then when she is at three bars, she will then swap from three to two and then back a bit.

She never took this long to reach three bars on the gage before.

Is this a sign of the temperature sensor going? >>

Hi

Sounds like the thermostat is stuck open.

Thanks, I was thinking something along that line. Is it a big job to change or can a armature mechanic do it?

It's not too difficult.

An amateur mechanic can do the thermostat.

Fantastic, thanks.
It would be good to replace it myself and cut down on some of the costs as I have spent a great deal on her this year, far more than what she is worth now :-)
