Hello all,
I am new on this forum, i live in Belgium and i dont have a c3, but a suzuki liana 1.4 ddis which i bought last month. It has a citroen 8hy engine, with another words 1.4 hdi 16v. 90 pk When i bought this car owner told me that starter has a problem maybe had to be changed. Thats why i took the car to a private service which i know. After a couple days they called me to say the car is ready. When i start the car i saw engine light is on and the car had no power. It was going but accelerate really slowly. So i turned back and told to guy what problem it had. We together looked at under the engine where starter is and saw some pipes were loose, not connected to the vacuum box. He connected 2 pipes to the vacuum box and started the car. Engine light was still on but car was really better but not perfect. At the 1st gear no problem but 2nd and the rest gears till 2000 rpm less power then normal. Computer said it has a maf problem but when i disconnect the maf there is no Changing, so they said to me that problem is not their fault and also couldnt find the problem. i also realized that till 50 km speed i hear turbo makes a little blowing noise with more speed i cant hear anything. Liana diesel is very rare car thats why i cant find a lot of info about this car so i ask your help friends. Btw sorry for bad english.

Test the vacuum system. It should have no leaks.
The vacuum controls the turbo variable vane and if this failed you don't get much boost.
After checking the vacuum system (with a lo gauge & vacuum tester - here), check or change the turbo solenoid.
Also have a look at this topic lacks power at times 1.4 16v HDi

There are 2 solenoids, 1 for the turbo and 1 for the EGR.Tiamol wrote:I think there are 2 turbo solenoid. Must i change both of them?
Its best to test the vacuum system to make sure its working and has no leaks.
If its leaking you need to find the leak and replace or repair what is leaking.
If it is not leaking and gives a good vacuum, it would be worth changing just the turbo solenoid.
If you think there may be EGR problems, like poor power, it can easily be blanked off at the EGR valve on the exhaust - use a EGR blanking plate (from here)
This could be a useful point to measure the vacuum
This is the EGR valve that can be blanked to bypass EGR problems
EGR information for the 1.4 HDi 16v C3.
