I have had my engine light come on suddenly and engine stalled twice so far. Both times engine was cold and within a few minutes of leaving home, but restarted without issues. I have since done a 100km and no problem.
The car does seem slightly sluggish occasionally if down shifting gears.
Any one offer some ideas on where to look? Diesel fuel filter was replaced in the summer.
No other faults or symptoms! 100000 miles on the clock.

Hi

You need to read the codes with The Lexia tool to see what is being reported by the MIL (engine light) before you can diagnose it.

Thanks. Don't feel like investing in that tool in view of the old car! Be good if I could borrow or rent in London area.
Is this type of problem likely to be related fuel or injection issiues?

It could be any number of things but more likely as a guess to be an electrical problem.

This is why it is intermittent and clears on a restart.

Lexia can pay for itself with just one use. I find mine invaluable and it avoids trips to a garage that charges to read the codes.
