Hello,
i changed the radiator cooling fan, that was not running,
with an other i got from the car wrecker
I tested it with LEXIA actuator test, it runs.
LEXIA has cancelled the error (P0692) and all seems ok.
BUT i have a question:
the original fan was almost identic to this 'new' fan,
but this has not the relais:
my fan had a relais included in the wiring: a small round grey box, that you can see here:
Instead in the wrecker fan, there is not the relais,
so the green thin wire goes directly from the grey connector to the fan,
and also the thick wires go directly from the black connecto to the fan.
So now i have a doubt:
why my fan had a relay?
It is needed?
I have to go again to the wrecker and ask a fan with a relais?
Thanks!

If its working on test and the fault has cleared, then I would just leave it alone and enjoy driving the car knowing that the cooling fan is working.vicolodo wrote:So now i have a doubt:

Who is to say your faulty fan is the original Citroen one and not some fan from another car which was previously changed that included redundant parts? Previous owners do all sorts of silly things to cars to keep them running.

Thank you very much
The wrecker told me that he could replace the fan with another with relay , identical to my old fan.
So, just to be sure, i got that fan, and it is working seamlessly.
But now i got another problem,
not related to the cooling fan, that works very well now.
The radiator is leaking water.
I dont know why before substitution of the fan it was not leaking water, but now i have this problem.
I opened this thread:
https://citroenc3owners.com/diesel-citro ... t1728.html
I would like to understand how to dismount the radiator.
The wrecker is ready with a new (cheap) one.
Thank you!
