I require a ecu kit for my 2003 c3 diesel, does it have to be the same numbers which are on the car, or will any kit off a c3 of the same model and year do

The C3 diesel in 2003 came in 2 types of engine ECU which are not interchangeable, get the same type from a similar year (2002-2005) and do any updates to the engine ECU and make the changes to the configuration of the BSI with Lexia or Diagbox, which can do everything you need except mileage correction.

Thanks, are you saying I only need the ecu, I thought you had to have all, the bsi and key as lexia cannot re-program

so I sent my ecu off to ECUTESTING.COM, they received it on Monday the 3rd, first they told me it was in there Research and development department and would be a extra 3 days, after this time they told me it was on the engineers bench, two days later, they again told me it was in there R&D department and would be a extra 3 days, after this time I was told it was on the engineers bench. today I had a phone call saying there testing was inconclusive, and there would be no charge except for the return postage. ECU testing..... inconclusive?????

Sorry, I wasn't clear. You need the whole kit, but the engine ECU in the kit must be of the same make.

Oh, then is going to have to be a kit.

But how did you fault down to a faulty engine ECU?

process of elimination, and lots of guess work. lexia says no fuel pressure but no fault codes, so I replaced the HDI Pump and the common rail sensor, still the same, there is no pulse at the injectors, which says to me there is not enough pressure or its a ecu fault, well its not a pressure problem, unlikely to be two pumps, all ECUs are matched everything is in order, according to lexia, so clutching at straws

Thanks.

If one of the injectors is completely bad and leaking its fuel out, would you expect the common rail pressure to read very low or zero?

Can you detect the pressure sensor signal at the ECU plug?

Wiring and injectors are more common faults on the Diesel C3s over Engine ECUs.

I have checked for continuity from the injectors to the ecu,and from all sensors all in order, but when I get my ecu back, hopefully tomorrow, i will try from the plug on the ecu. The leak off test while turning the engine over there was no fuel coming out of the injectors return at all.is that correct.

No, not really. I would expect some fuel being leaked off, but with a pressure of zero maybe you won't get any.

What I was thinking when I said

Was its all ending up in the cylinder and not being returned via the leak off.
