Hi,

I need your help please. I have a C3 1.4HDI 2002 and it has got problems. We have only had it a few days when we fitted an after market radio following the guide on here and that came with it. All was working but then, the Radio lost power and we noticed the car was not working with the following problems:

1: Car will not start, it turns over but nothing else happens.
2: The display is saying ECO MOD
3: The remote central looking is not working
4: The side lights come on with the ignition
5: When you put the hazards on they flash but there is no sound.
6: The battery light flashes.

I have checked all the fuses in the glove box and the engine compartment.
I have removed the new radio and put the old one back in.
I have replaced the battery with a new one
I have followed the BSI reset procedure as talked about on here, I have done this a few times now.
I have checked the voltage across the battery as well.
I have also left the car alone for a few hours.

So far I have not made any progress at all.

I am hoping some one here can help.

I have removed the new radio and put the old one back in.
Sounds like the way to go.

Have you also reverted all the wiring changes you made for fitting the new radio?

Its does sound like an electrical problem affecting the BSI, like bad wiring. You could completely remove the old radio and any extra wiring just to be sure the radio is not causing you problems.
I have checked the voltage across the battery as well.
What voltage did you get across the battery?

Thanks for your reply.

I have reverted all wiring to before I fitted the radio.

The voltage across the battery was 12.4V.

I hope that helps.

Thanks

12.4v across the battery is indicating a poorly charged battery.

You should see 12.65v or higher for a fully charged battery.

I would trickle charge it overnight and try again and while the battery is out of the car, double (or triple) check the wiring for the radio is as it should be (as Citroen intended).

battery charger is a useful thing to have for the odd time that you need one.

Update for everyone:

I have the cars computer read and it was found that the BSI was dead. A replacement was fitted by citroen and programmed and now the car is working perfectly again!

happy it is sorted, not so happy about the big bill that went with it.

thanks for all your help.

C3 2007 old shape
Key shell is separated and car wouldn't start!
We thought it was key problem but I saw battery light flashing on the dash so I thought it is the battery because the car isn't running as much as it should and it starts only couple days aweek for personal use.
So accidentaly waited while reading this articles and saw the ECO MODE has switched off but battery still flashing so the I gave it a shut and Started the engine and Here We Are it is Sparked and running.
I will leave it run for 10 min to charge up the battery a bit see if it comes up again I let you lnow if not happy days:)
Good luck everyone
All the best and thanks for your experience share

Not a problem bring up an old thread. The extra information will helpfully be useful to others with the same issue. Thank you :D
