I bought a 2015 Picasso C3 just under 2 weeks ago with 42500 miles on the clock. It came with a brand new MOT from the non Citroen Dealer. First time out in the rain, the wiper blades were obviously past their best & squeaked horribly as the screen cleared. That rang alarm bells so I decided to book it in for a full service at my nearest Citroen agent. My question is, does the full service include filling the Adblue tank?

It is not a normal part of a service, although some agents will do it, and may charge extra for it. The issue is that a full Adblue tank will usually last 10-11,000 miles, and the service interval on a 1.6 HDi is either 12,500 or 16,000 miles (I suspect the Blue HDi will be 16,000) so anyone doing a significant mileage will need to fill the tank sometime between services. In case you are not aware the system will alarm at 1500 miles then count down to a time when the engine will not start.

As the filler is below the boot floor I always make sure that the tank is topped up before doing a continental trip. The last thing I want to do on holiday is to find Adblue, empty everything out of the boot, including a spare wheel if carried, then carry out a very fiddly procedure. The filling isn't difficult but the containers and location of the filler make it difficult. I transfer to a clean 2L drink bottle and use a small funnel in the filler . Also note that you need to fill with at least 3.5L for the system to recognise the top-up, 5L would be better.

Thanks Routemaster. I've done a lot of research since I posted the question. I've also found the correct 2015 PDF of the owners handbook so it's easier to read about adblue. What I can't find is what is included in a full service from a Citroen agent. I've booked one with my local agent for next Wednesday & also asked them to change the wiper blades all round. They seem reluctant to reply by email, so spending upwards of £300 is delving into the unknown. We'll see what happens next week, hopefully their actions will be better than their words. :o

Had my service done by the local Citroen agent. Turned up 1/2hr late to collect the car & left their courtesy car on the pavement outside our bungalow. Other than than, it seems to have gone as planned. Full service, asked them to fit new wiper blades back & front & fill the Adblue tank. Rang me mid afternoon to say the work was done. Advised brake pads getting low. but other than that, all was well. Total cost £349 including collection, delivery, parts & vat.
Took it for a run around & everything seems ok. Next major service due 56000 miles. Will probably get the pads done when the lock down is supposed to ease.
