Hi all. When turning into my drive road just before I accidentally didn't change down gear to turn in (from 3) and it juddered. I managed to catch it before completely stalling out. I didn't see if the dash lights flickered or not.
After that, it made three beeps. I do have a check engine light on at the moment. It is a sensor that I have checked out by the mechanic. So when I switch it on I always hear these three beeps.
Could it be just that the engine has restarted and is effectively doing what it normally does on start up? Or do I need to worry?
Diesel juddered in wrong gear and then beeped. (MIL on)

The 3 beeps is your warning that the MIL is on (check engine), the stall probably just go the ECU to send the beeps for the MIL again, as you suggest. Noting to really worry about, but the MIL is not a trivial matter and should be sorted so you don't lack power or produce more emissions than necessary, possibly clogging up the cat.

Thank you that's what I thought, but just thought I'd check. I love my old C3!
Yeah, I know.i need to sort the MIl out I'm working with a mechanic at the moment who is going to fix it as soon as I can afford it. I've been working part time due to covid so have had tight purse strings. Now I have a full time job so it won't be long.

Any idea what the mechanic thinks is causing the MIL and what code did they pull out of the ECU to get that opinion on the cause?

I believe It is a sensor. The mech said with its age these sensors can just go. The car itself is running fine as far as we can tell, mind.
