Hi
My Citroen C3 2006 1.4 HDi diesel has had performance issues for several months now. I didn't bother too much because my child was learning to drive and it was a built-in inhibitor. Now we need to find the problem.
My mechanic has looked at the cat, the EGR and took the vehicle to a turbo specialist. None of these appear to be the problem. The diagnostic error code that sometimes appears (and other times doesn't) relates to the glow rods, which doesn't make sense in terms of the lack of performance being experienced.
The car struggles to "go" as if the turbo doesn't kick in around 2,500 revs. We hardly ever get out of third into 4th gear as it just doesn't maintain revs or speed. The clutch isn't slipping and wheel bearings aren't seized. I'm not too sure how else to describe the symptoms except that it just doesn't appear to have the performance power it used to have and so drives very sluggishly at present.
All suggestions are welcome. My mechanic is scratching his head as is the turbo specialist and myself.

Hi
Does your engine have the MAP sensor on the left air duct as you stand looking into the engine?
I have had one of these go bad, no fault showing, intermittent low power.

That's the 8v.
The engine that @C3driver52 is referring to in the 16v. The 8v doesn't have the extra parts.
To diagnose this, firstly read the codes using a lexia tool, make a not of these (screen shot), delete these codes and run the car again. Re-read the codes and list them here (screen shot them again).

As soon as I can get my Lexia tool operational, I certainly will. Seems the Lexia is an extremely buggy piece of hardware and software. Very frustrating.

My lexia is rock solid. Not buggy, works on the early models fine.
There is a Lexia and Diagbox topic here if you need to ask lexia questions
