If you are looking for a 'least cost' solution, as suggested by you request to find a used starter motor, then I would first suggest a repair.
You can often replace the worn parts in the starter - or at least check they are worn before replacing.
Have a look at our Citroen C3 starter motor strip down post. The petrol starter and diesel starter all work in the same way and have very similar parts.

Repairing your existing unit can bring it up to a refurbished level, much better than a second hand, worn out, used item.
