My 2011 C3 Diesel failed to start today, first problem ever.

When turning the key, there is no sound from engine but the electrics within the car repeatedly turn on then fail, repeating on a 2-second (or so) cycle. So every 2 secs while the key is turned to ignition, the headlights flash on, dashboard lights flash on, radio comes on, and wipers (even though their switch is off) move a few inches – then everything cuts out and it does it again… and again.

So, some electrical issue?

It is not out of fuel, and has had no recent work, no battery change, basically fine yesterday, bonkers today.

Any ideas?

Hi IanWinter

I would have your battery tested but if the battery is ok, then suspect the starter motor.

Diagnosed: just a weak battery. AA surprised that it manifested itself in such a mad way, but new battery should fix it.

You can add an avatar to your account - Avatar or change your vehicle details - Car Bio or even add a signature to your posts - Signature. But this is not all you can do in the User Control Panel :)
