battery 60AH 540 vs 55AH 480

Hello,

i have to buy a new battery for my c3 1.4hdi
My old battery is a 60AH 540
It is a little expensive,
i wonder if i can install a 55AH 480 battery instead of the old more powerful battery..

Do you have any suggestions?

You can install a much lower capacity battery, but it may not be able to crank so well from cold, run all the electrical accessories when the engine is not running or have a much shorter life as its drained more to start the engine.

If this is your original, 'from the factory' battery that has failed, then Citroen have fitted that battery for a reason. If they could have managed a lighter, smaller, cheaper battery and still had moderately happy customers, they would have done....

If anything, I would be tempted to go up in capacity if the size fits because you get more cranking power and power for the electricals when you need it the most.
