Hello: I have the addblue tank filled to the top, but the addblue light was getting on and off for some time, until now, that it got permenently on (so that the car will not start in 1050 km!).

Could this be due to the addblue dosing instead of just the addblue level in the tank (as I also have NOX sensor and pressure reducer errors simultaneously)?

Thanks to all; wonderfull site.

Sounds like bad news. Usually with this it turns out to be the Adblue pump. This is only available as a unit with the tank. I really hope you have deep pockets or a warranty. If this is the problem it is likely to cost over £1000.

There are 2 reasons for this problem.

1- different viscosity materials (for truck)
2- adblue tank cover

This problem is under Warranty up to 2 years

It is true that there has been a recall in the UK to change the Adblue caps. Also, as far as I know, there is only one spec for Adblue. it's just that Adblue pumps deliver too fast and in larger quantities than are suitable for filling a car.

I was surprissed to know that in Chile CITROEN would warrant ONLY if you pay them all oil changes and services. I did so until 20.000 km, but thenI changed oil on my own. I was fed up with them when they charged me twice the cost of addblue refill. So, I ended up paying CLP700.00 (orden of 1.000 euros) with no alternative. Very surprising. I had the idea that all emmissions control parts had warranty independant of where you changed the oil!!!

Well, not a word about this in Chile.

Thank you all for the comments and friendliness.

Best regards from this currently struggling Chile.

I've got a very similar problem. The adblue light started flashing as well as the service light, so I topped up (about 3 litres) and the lights kept flashing.

So I took the car to my local independant citroen specialist. They diagnosed that the adblue pump is broken and the whole tank needs replacing at £800 plus labour!! They reset the fault lights and the car ran for 1900 miles before the same lights started flashing. It needed 8 litres adblue to fill the tank. So the pump is pumping and not broken.

My own thoughts are that the real culprit is the adblue level gauge not working. So when the level drops low I first don't get the warning light, then when the level continues to drop I don't get a flashing warning light. Then when the tank runs out and the injector stops working I get the pair of flahing lights.

I've had them reset the system and we're going to top up the adblue every fortnight or more frequently when we do longer runs.

What should do I do now? Am I doing the right thing.

I know this is an old post and the OP has probably long since solved the issue or parted with the car, but, for info for others, it is not a good idea to put small quantities of Adblue in the tank as the system will not recognise the top-up. I can't remember the minimum quantity recommended, but I know 5L should be recognised.

The other issue is that a sensor in the exhaust system may fail and give the same symptoms, and an Adblue tank may not be needed.
