I have read the fuel gauge fault thread and it isn't the issue I suddenly have.
I always top my tank up and it's always been fine (car is 3 months old). This last time however, the gauge hasn't gone to full, it's still the one bar down it was before I topped up. And the 'miles left in the tank' reading is static. Normally it changes quite frequently. Currently it has changed twice since I topped up, each time on starting up. Tonight I travelled a different route to work giving it a short run on the motorway, normally bound to alter the readings - it didn't, nor did it change on starting up after a call. I'm hoping that by some magic it will right itself when I top up again but I thought I'd just ask the question here in case anyone had any ideas.
Thanks very much for reading and in anticipation
A different fuel gauge fault :)

Hi Jan, welcome to the forum
I would let the fuel run down, so there are only 6 or so litres left in the tank and then fill up to full. I am not sure what fuel level sensor you have in yours, but I have seen them stick in other cars. The way to free them is to empty and fill. Its either that or dismantle the thing and who wants to do that?Jan wrote:I thought I'd just ask the question here in case anyone had any ideas.

Thanks for the suggestion
I'll try that.

Hi, I think the same thing has happened with my C3 1.6HDi (11 plate).
Did letting it run down as far as you dare and filling it all the way back up fix the issue, or not?

I didn't run it that low - just down to a couple of bars and that did the trick. I let it go under half a tank now before filling up and it seems fine. Initially I was topping it up all the time, literally a bar or 2. Hope this helps
