Hello all...
Just a quick one, im having a problem with my C3 (obviously), Every now and then the engine management light comes on and the car drops in power (limp mode).
I have been advised that the EGR valve may just need a clean, my problem is loccating it....
i have tried following advice from a different post, but after removing the air filter box i realised that i was following instructions for an older model car.
So.....does anyone know where i can find the EGR valve, and how difficult is it to remove?
Thanks in advance.
Steve.

Hi Steve, there are 2 different 1.4 HDI engines listed for a A51, late model C3. Would you PM me the VIN of the C3 in question and I can see which one you have fitted. But, although the 2 EGRs are very different, they look like they are in the same location as the early models and situated between the bulkhead/firewall and the engine.stereadman wrote:Hello all...

The second thing is, it is always worth reading the engine codes or even the whole car codes if you have problems. I don't know if you were advised to clean the EGR based on any error code reading?
A basic OBD2 reader, like one of these from Amazon (here)
Ultimate full car reading comes from Lexia and our lexia topic and links to them are here.

Firstly, Apologies for the (really) slow response. Been a bit hectic and not had a chance to think about the car.
The VIN number is VF7SC8HP4BA.....
The cars codes were read by a mechanic, who said it seems like ti is the EGR valve, He couldnt fit us in to fix it, so thought i would look into cleaning it myself.
Thanks again.

Its got the DV4C TURBO DIESEL engine
This is the EGR diagram for the DV4C
'B' and '6' are the EGR valve main components

The design has move on a long way from the 2002 design that could almost fit in the palm of your hand and looks like this:
It may pay to try the short-cut first with some diesel EGR cleaner (from amazon - here)
