I don't recall a step-by-step guide on the forum, but there are some pictures of the oil filter location for the 1.4 HDi ,which is very similar to the 1.6HDi, which may help.

Once you have found and removed the oil filter,

Remove any under engine tray, then

its just a case of - remove the drain plug and drain the old oil into a suitable container (here), refit the drain plug and refill with the right oil to the correct level/correct quantity.

The location of the oil filter, and the all important Engine Oil for a Diesel Citroen C3

Also have a look at some guides required, where njdudsbury asks a similar question to yours.

I find the Citroen C3 Haynes Manual very useful for tackling these sorts of jobs.

There is also National Tyres who do oil and filter changes for you. They have the ramps and an old oil disposal contract. It is much easier to get the professionals to do it.
