The audio file is here. It was recorded today when the car was sitting still for 8 hours so the engine was cold. Local temperature was about 15 C.
Is it the injector?
Thank you for your time

I can't hear the sound, but it could well be the injector fire seal.jakasi2 wrote:When the engine heats up it is a lot more quite or the noise isn't that chopy, tractor like.
I managed to get the MP3 to play and it sounds exactly like a faulty fire seal on the injectorC3CAR wrote:I can't hear the sound, but it could well be the injector fire seal.
Injectors are expensive, second hand or reconditioned ones are cheaper, but still not cheap.jakasi2 wrote:Thank you for the reply![]()
I found the topic you mentioned after I already posted the question.
The mechanic also said that if might be the injector. He said that if it is faulty the new one costs about 300€ + 200€ for refitting. He then added they might be able to rebuild it but they have to see the condition of it.
Are these prices "fair" or am I geeting ripped off?
Thanks for the update. I can assure you they didn't change the head gasket for 224€.jakasi2 wrote:I took the car to the garage and they changed the copper seals and head gasket.
