1.4hdi intermitent starting problems

Hi
i have a c3 1.4hdi 2003 .
Its a brilliant car and we really love it until recently!!!
We are having intermitent starting problems. Go to the car and turn the key and nothing but a slight click but not from the starter area.
Bump the car and it starts straight away and runs perfectly.
A few days and everything is fine then the same again.
I have charged the battery and its healthy and ive changed the key fob batterys.
Any ideas???/

Hi alanmonks, to me it sounds like the starter motor/solenoid assembly is faulty. They do wear out and become intermittent then they fail completely and blow a main power fuse.

Seems to be a bit of a common problem for that age of C3, EuroCarParts have discounted C3 starters.
