Hi ,,, looking to replace the rear rectangular back box of the current one piece on the 2003 1.4hdi. I read that the main pipe can be cut so can then buy just a rear box.
I have seen a couple of aftermarket ones by Klarius and Thyssen.
Anyone know if the aftermarket boxes are any good ?

I haven't had to fit a new back box, but I found this.keved wrote:I have seen a couple of aftermarket ones by Klarius and Thyssen.
Thyssen https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ThyssenKrupp
ThyssenKrupp AG /ˈtɪsɛn.krʊp/ is a German multinational conglomerate corporation based in Duisburg and Essen, Germany. The corporation consists of 670 companies worldwide. While ThyssenKrupp is one of the world's largest steel producers, the company also provides components and systems for the automotive industry, elevators, escalators, material trading and industrial services
Klarius https://www.klarius.eu/about/manufacturing/
UK Manufacturing. UK jobs?Cheadle, based in Staffordshire UK, is Klarius manufacturing plant producing over 2 million replacement exhausts, catalytic converters (CATs) and DPFs for road cars every year.
I wouldn't have a problem choosing either of them for my C3

Thanks.
I did read about some rear boxes being circular (rather than rectangular) and certainly a number of pics on a certain auction site show pics of cicular ones for the 1.4Hdi. Also read of some "rattling" at certain rpm.

Ours had a new exhaust recently, not sure what make the new one is but it is British made and it's fine.
This is a job I didn't do myself, I don't really have the equipment for getting proper access under the car, plus I could get the complete exhaust, now a two piece, fitted, for less than the price Citroen wanted for half the exhaust (part only), and if you fit half the job you've got to sort out a flange where you make the cut.

If at first you don't succeed, destroy all the evidence and pretend you never tried
