hi im new and this is my first post hope someone can help. i have a c3 1.4 hdi 8v 70000 which has completley baffled me ,

history started having trouble starting but eventually would , run rough for a few minuets then fine , occasional eml

eventually got more difficult to start , tried pumping primer pump noticed air bubbles in fuel line and took off airbox and fuel leak around pipes.

ordered new fuel lines ciruit off ebay (not original) and fitted would not start after hours of priming etc
bought lexia

temporary faults air temp , low fuel pressure , checked all connections , no joy engine turns over but not firing.

had some donor parts so swopped airmass sensor , fuel rail pressure sensor , took off fuel pressure regulator cleaned , fuel filter 3 months old, still no joy ,

now no faults in injector part of lexia but eml still on , on looking at the diagnostics of injectors its showning fuel rail pressure as zero ? when cranking .

local garage had a look and came back with the fuel pump is shot and they would need to replace the pump, injectors, timing belt at a bill of 1400 ? some how i dont believe this advise but im stuck to be honest

Time to connect Lexia :)

You will get zero pressure until the cranking speed is not high enough, when it is the solenoid in the pump changes state and the pump delivers pressure. Is the cranking speed up to spec?

If you have no faults in Injector, it would be worth looking at the other sections just to see what faults you have so you get the full picture.

You can also attach lexia screen shots to the forum and there is some information how to:

thanks for the reply ,
the crank speed is fine fully charged battery etc
had lexia on it comes up with no faults recorded but the eml is on ?
not sure how these are set up is there a fuel shut off on the pump which may have failed as fuel is deffo getting to the pump ? any ideas could it be ecu problem ?
thanks
