Hi
I have a 54 plate 1.4 hdi c3 that when I turn the key nothing happens
The issue started about 6 weeks ago was told it was possibly the starter motor so bought myself a Haynes manual and removed the starter motor and after a quick Google search realised I could bench test the motor so did but nothing was wrong with it so refitted it back to the car and the car started straight away (how strange) then 3 weeks later it did it again so instead of getting my hands dirty again I called out recovery and they said starter motor so I bought a new starter motor (even though I did bench test the old one again and it worked fine)and after fitting the new starter motor sure enough the car started straight away but have just got up to go to work and have just turned the key and nothing happens please can someone help

Bad battery connection or even a bad battery may cause this.Odd-job wrote:Hi

Starter solenoid would have been a good first guess.
Other problems could be the starter fuse not making a good contact, or something that would make it intermittent.
