Hi ecky
I have never seen a dirty fuel filter as they just get changed every 20 to 40K without any inspection from me.
Did you prime the new filter before fitting it?
As this can make priming the system much quicker.
How did you know the filter was dirty?ecky wrote:i changed the diesel filter as it was filthy

Probably not as you have removed the dirt with the filter, I think you need to prime the system it more.ecky wrote:could the dirt in filter have bocked my fuel pump it was running before filter change on have even towed it for 3 miles to no luck any help would be appreciated
You should double check everything is correctly refitted to the filter in the right places.ecky wrote:ven tried putting pump on the return pipe and it just surges fuel

Try to delete the codes (non permanent) and try to start again, re-read the codes and then use lexia to diagnose and fault find each code to get it running.
With something like probable P0654 'Engine RPM Output Circuit Malfunction ', the engine is not going to fire any fuel from the injectors while that fault persists.

I came a cross a 1.4 HDi 2002 non starter recently, seems to be caused by the transponder chip in the fob. The spare key works when the main key doesn't (which was intermittent). No faults present on Lexia, but I didn't look any deeper than a code scan.
