Hi,

If anyone on here has the same car as me, could they please tell me what colour connectors go where by the EGR valve as I think mine are on wrongly. Lexia shows the EGR valve is open-circuit and the plug connected to it only has one wire in it.

The one nearby going to the alternator has two wires going to it, and there's another grey plug further down going to a sensor of some sort which also has two wires.

The pics in the H@ynes manual are black and white so no help, and the citroen service website doesn't help either.

Thanks!

(my car is a 2002 model if that makes a difference)

Haynes shows the wire colours as a code. What doesn't help is that I can't see the EGR in the wiring diagrams :(

I don't have the same engine, but I would expect 2 wires. One 12v supply and a wire that terminates at one of the engine ecu multiplugs.

Citroens wiring diagrams don't have wire colours, they have wire numbers (you can see the numbers printed on the cable insulation)

A extract of a wiring diagram for the Siemens SID802 ECU found in the 8v diesel C3 from around 2002.

The EGR is no 1253 and is supplied by wire numbers 1373 (ECU) and 7313B (12v from the BSM B3 engine fuse box)

I have marked 1373 in RED and 7313B in GREEN - but the actual wires are not those colours, but the numbering will be correct :)
SID802 EGR Solenoid wiring to ECU

7313C disappears off the top of the page, but ends up at the fuse box as 7313
EGR power supply from engine fuse box BSM B3 on SID802
EGR power supply from engine fuse box BSM B3 on SID802
as shown in the picture above. I didn't miss anything out for 7313

If you click the images - you should see a larger and hopefully more clear image.

Thanks for all the help. With it, I was able to ascertain that the alternator and egr solenoid plugs had been swapped. Indeed, it turned out haynes does actually state that only one wire is used for the alternator.

Odd that the battery light didn't come on considering the absence of either a voltage or a ground to this wire when it was plugged into the egr solenoid...
