Slow Opening Roof

If you need help with your C3 Pluriel, that seems specific to the Pluriel (like the roof), ask here. Engine and Transmission problem must be asked in the relevant topic for the problem. The Pluriel shares the same Engine, Gearbox, Brakes and Transmission as the other C3 models (see above for the correct section).

No engine, gearbox or running gear questions
Think: Pluriel roof and rear window jobs
Did you know the Pluriel shares the engines, gearboxes, electrical, audio system, suspension, steering and running gear with the early C3?

Hi all,
Like you all I have a temperamental pluriel roof, its recently stopped opening and the boot wouldnt open.
Rang the French Diagnostic Company, they said check the wiring loom on drivers side! Could be a broken or bent wire? Hubby spent a couple of hours on the hottest day looking at all the wires. Nothing looked wrong there! After spending so many hours looking for a fault on a previous days I told him to put it back together!! Who needs a working boot right? Once all back together it worked... 🤔 don't ask me how? I took the car for a spin to boost the battery as it had been sat for few weeks. We had put the roof in the boot at this point. Got back and put roof back up, it closed really slowly! Could this be a low battery problem?
Apart from roof problems mines a lovely car to drive, being a 1.4 Diesel!

If the engine is running an the roof is slow, its unlikely to be the battery, but if the engine is off and its slow, then it could well be the battery. A local garage can check the battery.

The wires that operate the mechanical roof don't get serviced and they can become stiff, so it could be a mechanical fault if not the battery.
