hi all,
Now my roof won't do anything, the boot won't open either!
All I get is a noise when I push in the roof switch, it doesn't move at all now.
Could it mean I need a new motor and gear kit or is it something else? We've looked at all the wires, taken all the plastics off. But seem to be rubbing our heads as to whats wrong...
We've tried restarting the ECU but nothing.
I hope someone can help.
Thanks
Roof won't do anything!!

What noise do you get?

That sounds like the classic pluriel roof failure.
The roof sliding mechanism gets stiff through a lack of maintenance or a part of the roof has broken and now, when the motor runs, it just jumps its teeth on the drive. That is the sound you are getting.
Roof is stiff or jammed.
Roof motor drive is worn.
It a big job, have a look at Citroen C3 Plurel Roof issue investigation topic for pictures of what was found in a pluriel when you get the same sound.
Would be easier to fit a whole new roof if you could find one, but it would cost more than the car is worth.
Whatever it is going to be, expensive and time consuming will appear there too

Is there anyway I can get the boot working? I don't mind the roof not working but could do with a working boot.
I'll have a look in my local scrap yard to see if I can get another roof motor!
Thanks for help.

A new motor won't fix the jammed or broken roof. You will end up with another damaged motor drive.
I don't know, sorry.
