Hi all,
After some intermittent problems opening and closing the roof it is now permanently closed. Any attempts to open the roof are met with a roof operation impossible message on the dashboard and an irritating beeping!! Also (and probably connected) the rear glass on the boot hatch will not open when operating the open button and is met with the same roof operation impossible message! I have attempted to reset this using the button on the inside of the boot but this is also meet with a negative beeping sound and after having some success this has now given up working.
I have checked the fuse for this which seems fine and it does appear that there is power but it is not willing to open.
So I am left with a non operating roof and boot which is providing challenges on a daily basis. Any knowledge or support around this issue will be much appreciated.
Kind regards
Carson

They usually go this way, never from intermittent to fully working

The intermittent fault was your indicator that things are not right and intervention should be made very soon (before it fails completely) because now the roof won't open to do the inspection and testing required to fault find and repair
Should have really looked into this before it failed. But inspect the slide drives and the cables that they run on. These can get gummed up and really stiff that the motor can't dive them any more. Sometimes they shear the drive, other times they break the plastic mounts that hold the motor.
It's going to be more difficult to make a mechanical inspection if it doesn't open.
