Rear Power Windows Stop Working.?

If you need help with your C3 Pluriel, that seems specific to the Pluriel (like the roof), ask here. Engine and Transmission problem must be asked in the relevant topic for the problem. The Pluriel shares the same Engine, Gearbox, Brakes and Transmission as the other C3 models (see above for the correct section).

So suddenly both my rear power windows stopped working. The dull orange lights on the rear switches have gone out. Front windows work fine.
First thought was the fuse, which is f9 on the glove box fuse block, according to my owners manual. That fuse is ok, checked continuity through it as well.
Any ideas. The next obvious might be voltage supply to those two rear switches or earthing.

I pulled both rear switches from the console, all wiring seems to be intact. I noticed that the front window switches still glow orange even with the fuse pulled. Is there some other voltage supply at work here, that is not getting to the rear switches. Very perplexing.

I did a BSI Reset, following Mr Dents instructions, no change.

Suggestions?

Thanks Glen

There is a cut out relay which is controlled by the BSI just above the BSI in the glove box.
Either the relay is bad or there is some control (button) to lock out the rear windows?
Not familiar with the pluriel...sorry.

Thank you Mate. I have discovered that the EH1 relay on the BSI, pin 10 specifically, deactivates the rear windows. It's a child safety feature apparently. My Owners Manual shows a dash button that locks the rear windows. It is the top right button on the radio surround. There is no decal on the button on my Pluriel, but I will be checking it tomorrow when it's daylight. Hopefully it's that button, which i must have pushed unknowingly. I will report back.

Cheers
Glen

Ok, this problem is now resolved. Somehow I must have pushed the child window lock button on the radio surround (right side top button). It probably would have been obvious if that particular button still had the little diagram on it, mine is completely blank (black) and I must have assumed I did not have that feature. Obviously it has worn off, I will have to put a sticker on it to remind me.
Thanks again for the hint.

Cheers
Glen

Child Lock button on early C3 Pluriel

The early cars have paint and symbols for the child lock buttons that rub off and degrade over time. later versions have a much more resilient design and materials for the buttons.

There was mention that you can buy stickers that replace the worn out button decals, but I have never seen them.
