Rear Boot window refitting

If you need help with your C3 Pluriel, that seems specific to the Pluriel (like the roof), ask here. Engine and Transmission problem must be asked in the relevant topic for the problem. Hi,

I've followed on here for a while and always found the info i needed, but now i need some help that i can't find.

My Wifes Pluriel had the common issue with the rear boot hinge snapping (Part 8484C5), and decided to tackle the replacement myself with the help of my Dad.
I couldn't follow the know guides exactly as couldn't release the rear cartridge to release the broken section to fit the new part (now know how to manually to this).

So we decided the only way we could get to it would be to put the roof right back and remove the rear window with the roof.
Worked great, we could now swap the broken part, unfortunately now we can't get the rear window back on.

After 5 hours of trying, and now exhausted from holding the boot up we have given up and i now turn to the experts for help.

Is there some easy way to reattach the rear boot (top part) or are we just doing something completely wrong it just won't go up so we can reattach the last couple of bolts to the hinge and lock it in.

I'm at my whits end with this car now, so please please help.
