Possible to do a colour-change on Pluriel "roof bars" ?

If you need help with your C3 Pluriel, that seems specific to the Pluriel (like the roof), ask here. Engine and Transmission problem must be asked in the relevant topic for the problem. The Pluriel shares the same Engine, Gearbox, Brakes and Transmission as the other C3 models (see above for the correct section).

Did you know the Pluriel shares the engines, gearboxes, electrical, audio system, suspension, steering and running gear with the early C3?

Hi,

I'm currently torn between getting a C3 or C3 Pluriel as our second car. I know all the horror stories about the Pluriel roof, but nonetheless. :-)

If I did get a Pluriel my personal preference would be for one with black "roof bars" (not sure if that's the correct term; the parts that get removed when switching from fixed-head to full convertible mode).

If I settled on a Pluriel with silver "roof bars" is it a fairly easy task to convert to black via parts from a donor vehicle? Obviously the two large sections are designed to lift off when switching to convertible, but I'm not sure bout the two remaining parts with "Pluriel" written on them that hug the windscreen. Pretty sure I saw a complete set for sale on Gumtree and the "windscreen sections" looked like cosmetic trim?

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve, the arches will swap over ok. The windscreen supports (called windscreen moulding) with the word pluriel may be a bit more challenging but nothing a can of black spray won't fix.

They are supplied by citroen in primer and they are clipped on, but I don't know 'how to' unclip them.

EDIT: Screws too :x

It hadn't considered potentially spraying them, great tip Arfur, thanks!

I'll investigate the clips & screws option first but good to have a plan B. :-)

Thanks again,

Steve

Does anyone have access to one of the "exploded diagrams" that are often posted on the forum, showing the "windscreen mouldings" on the Pluriel?

I've tracked down some reasonably priced black ones on a donor car but the seller can't figure out how to get them off and believes they're a complete unit including some huge heavy metal parts.

Which doesn't sound likely based on what I've learned here.

Thanks,

Steve
