Pluriel roof kinda working?

If you need help with your C3 Pluriel, that seems specific to the Pluriel (like the roof), ask here. Engine and Transmission problem must be asked in the relevant topic for the problem. The Pluriel shares the same Engine, Gearbox, Brakes and Transmission as the other C3 models (see above for the correct section).

Did you know the Pluriel shares the engines, gearboxes, electrical, audio system, suspension, steering and running gear with the early C3?

Hello,
As the title suggests, my pluriel's roof is partially working. By this I mean that it doesn't progress backwards in proper steps. I think this may be because the garage I had working on it didn't fully retract the roof when doing a BSI reset but I don't know. Also, the boot has locked itself as a safety precaution because it senses the roof is open?

Sorry I can't explain better but any advice on what to do next would be greatly appreciated

P.S.: I had a lot of work done on the roof so far:
ECU resoldered and reflashed
New cables
New clips (dont know the proper name but the bit between the roof and the rails)
Thats a few but I really want this work to come to an end :(

Have you done a roof reset?
Is the roof 100% ok mechanically? (No shotgun noises, jumps, or movement hesitation)

I think the garage i had working on it did a proper reset. Mechanically, its fine i think. The roof responds to the switch but only goes back a short distance to what it ought to. By going back and forward with the switch, I can get the roof back all the way but when it hits the top of the back window, it starts to move at an angle and grind.
My thoughts are that the roof wasnt reset properly so its not moving back in proper sections and I'm not sure what to do about the grinding

That's not normal, so definitely something mechanical and nit electrical going on, and it's the reason your roof isn't working correctly.

Possibly a broken interslide by the sound of it...

But thats the thing. I had all of them replaced as well as the cables. My best guess is that the right motor has gone and the roof needs a proper reset but i'm really confused by it.

Just out of interest, if anyone from this forum works in kent and would be willing to have a look at it mid April, you'd be a godsend

There's only one motor - It drives two cables that are connected to the very first interslide on each side.
Once the first interslide meets the second one, they connect and move together. This goes on till the very last interslide. Once every interslide including the rear ones has been connected, the whole roof starts to move over the rear window (This is in order to not obstruct the rear window view until it's 100% necessary).

In any case, it's worth doing a roof reset yourself and see if it works. It's pretty easy to do.
Close your roof, and keep the switch in the closed position. Then hold it down for 30 seconds.
You shouldn't hear any machine gun sounds during those 30 seconds if your cables and motor gear are in good condition.
Your boot should now work. If there's no mechanical issues with the roof, it should work as well - However, make sure that when you get it all the way back, all of it is actually ON the rear window, don't attempt to open the boot with an interslide mid-way or you'll break something expensive.
If there are, in fact, mechanical issues with it, the car will get confused at some point and you'll have to do the reset again to get your boot to work.
