That is so fantastic, thanks, I've yet to get a single reply from a dealership, my Dad lives 2 miles from one in St Ives Cambs and no reply at all. I was suspecting Citroen dealers are not allowed to sell to other countries or is this just my conspiracy theory going crazy?

Just got a quote from my nearest dealer on the roof (I asked for a cable & gear kit + fabric, but I assume they'll only replace the roof as a whole) - It's nearly 5 and a half grand to replace it!
I guess the easiest option so far would be to get a second-hand replacement roof (The only one I was able to find so far was about a grand, and it's in Germany... But it'll still be a second-hand roof that could break any time...
The other option would be to replace the fabric with a used one and replace all mechanical parts that need to be replaced with new ones, assuming I could find someone that would handle the job ( I don't trust myself enough ). Parts would probably cost less, it would probably last a lot longer, but I doubt I'll find anyone locally, and it'd be pretty labor-intensive.
Any ideas?

I fitted a secondhand roof ECU [ from EBay UK ] to the tailgate and it now opens from the external handle switch so fingers crossed on buying those cables and drivegear and I'll have a working Pluriel!

I've ordered my cables and drive gear from these guys. I had them sent to my address in the UK so they could eventually get to Australia. It seemed impossible to send them direct

I spent some of last night using google translate to understand the YouTube video text, here it is or at least something similar

Once the hood has been raised enough to see the cable head [10-20cm], release the head of the cable from the first interslide by hand or with pliers

After having disconnected the battery of the car, disconnect the two connectors that feed the hood motor and proceed with the extraction of the motor from its seat

As you can see the pinion and got stuck on the pivot of the engine that makes it move, and served a night to soak in the "WD40?" to be able to extract it permanently

This is the situation that I found after removing the metal plate, to notice all the dirt and the bad condition of the cables

After having freed the cables from the sprocket pry with a screwdriver on the guides to remove all residues and then extract the cables

Then extract the two cables from both parts

Clean well with a screwdriver and remove the metal trim [under the pinion housing]

After removing the old cables, proceed with the insertion of the new cables in the appropriate housing, and then once inserted until the end of the stroke [the insertion is very hard] take out the cable and clean it with a clean cloth, so as to remove all the grease, dust and dirt that have deposited inside the guide. Run from both sides, taking into account that the right cable is longer than the left one

Once the guides have been cleaned, you only have to reassemble everything

I think the main problems of the drive failing is due to the build-up of dirt, contaminated grease and dust in the cable guides causing it to drag and put the motor under stress.

Maybe the guide and cable cleaning should be recommended as a preventative measure while the original parts are still serviceable?

I got my cables and new drive gear and spent much of the day removing loads of silicone sealant that a previous owner had sealed up much of the roof with, all along every edge and plenty of it too!
I was hoping to wind back the roof but the drive gear doesn’t seem to be probably driving both cables. I managed to wind back one side slightly only. Can anyone recommend how you fit the drive gear to the twin cables in the tailgate? Does the gear get fitted with the motor in one go or do people fit the gear and check that the cables are nicely meshed with it before trying to add the motor? I have given up for the day but there seems to be a trick or two that i’m missing since the gear doesn’t seem to be meshing correctly with the cables. The cables seem to need a bit of sideways force before they can sit hard into their recess, is this normal? Any advice gratefully received!!

I think my front interslide is broken which might be why the roof is not unlatching on one side, would this make sense? [ it looks different to the one on the other side plastic part is missing something, its hard to see because the roof is closed of course ! ]

Hi, My stepdaughter returned to the US so we ended up selling the Pluriel this weekend. I had ordered a set of roof cables and the tailgate drive mechanism from a supplier in Europe and as the new buyer wasn't bothered about the roof not working I am now trying to re-sell them.
