Pluriel roof fabric replaced, now switch operates in 1 step increments

If you need help with your C3 Pluriel, that seems specific to the Pluriel (like the roof), ask here. Engine and Transmission problem must be asked in the relevant topic for the problem. The Pluriel shares the same Engine, Gearbox, Brakes and Transmission as the other C3 models (see above for the correct section).

Hi, I have replaced the roof fabric on my 2005 Pluriel that was otherwise working fine. To do this I removed the old roof by removing the motor and cog and detatching the cables. The roof is working but the front switch only operates by pressing it in and in 1 step increments. I'm guessing that maybe a reset is required. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi

I don't think there are any resets to do.

It sounds more like the resistance to moving the driven parts is too great and the things trips out and resets, giving you the 1 step increments.

Did you grease up the cables?

and make sure everything went back perfectly?

Things may have become more broken after removing them? Something that was just OK until it got removed and replaced and now its causing an issue with smooth movement.

Hi, Thanks for that. I've used the advised spray grease on the sliders and channels but with the cables is it best to remove and spray grease these as well? When the motor and its cog is removed the roof can be moved in both directions reasonably freely but when manually turning the with these fitted does appear tighter? Many thanks for your advice..

Hi, one thing I have tried is using the switch with the motor in place but without the cog and it still runs at one small run at a time only when the switch is pressed rather than turned around? Whereas ther are sensors checking that the tailgate and glass top are in place I don't believe there are any others to sense the location of the roof, rather just the resistance felt when either fully open or closed. I'm sure I'm missing something here?!

Hi, just an update. I replaced the motor drive cog. Closed the roof. Then pushed the front switch in for 30+ seconds to reset the roof ecu which did the trick. Now switch working in all positions and both upper ailgate switches now working!
