pluriel center brake light bulb replacement

If you need help with your C3 Pluriel, that seems specific to the Pluriel (like the roof), ask here. Engine and Transmission problem must be asked in the relevant topic for the problem. The Pluriel shares the same Engine, Gearbox, Brakes and Transmission as the other C3 models (see above for the correct section).

Did you know the Pluriel shares the engines, gearboxes, electrical, audio system, suspension, steering and running gear with the early C3?

'Third stop lamp' is the central brake light

• Undo the fixing screws to remove the tailgate interior trim.
• Unclip the bulb- holder to access the bulbs.

Bulb: is this W5W.

You are after a W21W style globe. The Amazon description has an error in the title. It's not a W5W but the item and the rest of the text are correct. Look at the text printed on the lamp in the Amazon picture.

W5W is a smaller size, used in the headlamp parking lamps and other parts of the car.

Yes, the manual is confusing.

If you remove the existing lamp and can see the writing on it, there could be either W21W or W16W has been fitted. Mine has the W21W currently in there and has passed its annual test for many years with it, but the marking on the lamp fitting is for a W16W.

If you do fit a W5W they are just not bright enough to be useful as a high level brake light.

OOPS!! In that case I have made a mistake!
If the specification is a W16W then its a T15 size bulb. The W21W is a T20 size bulb.
The wedge fitting (where the bulb plugs in) for the W16W, is the same size as the W5W but the globe portion is larger and it's 16 watt not 5 watt. So a W5W will fit, but is too dim (as C3CAR said) and a W21W will not fit at all.
Sorry about that.

Figure 3 is the W5W globe. Figure 5 is the W16W bulb and figure 6 is the W21W bulb.
