Hi,
I bought 2003 Pluriel for my girlfriend the other day and she loves it, but the roof doesn't work, told her not to worry and I sort it out and now she's asking me every day. The problem is the roof was siliconed shut, I presumed it was probably leaky and there was a slim chance it would work when I removed it but no joy, I didn't realise there was so much to this roof.
I removed the panel on the glass hatch to get access to the motor and noticed it had been rewired so the glass boot lid would work. I really should have checked it out before I bought it !!!
There is a black wiring block and I can't see where it goes or if I'm missing a piece. Can anybody advise me on where I should start on sorting this out ? Please see the photos attached.
Can the roof be rigged to open manually ?
Thanks in advance,
Paul

H Paul, no.
Yes, the same for all cars, test everything works, for a convertible, check the roof works.
Probably not worth doing, you would be better off putting back together and trading it in or selling at an auction, then buy again... properly...

The roof was sealed shut because its knackered. You will find fault after fault and it won't be cheap to fix.

Thanks for the advice. Unfortnately selling it isn't an option, we live in the Canaries and I've been looking for an automatic for her for literally months, they're like hen's teeth over here and really expensive.
I'll strip it down over the weekend, I was just looking to see if anyone could advise me on where to start.
Thanks again for taking the time to give advice.

There are lots of diagrams for pluriel roof parts and photographs of pluriel roof strip down jobs in the pluriel questions section and also the pluriel tips section. These may give you an idea of what you expect to find.

Thanks Arfur,
I've been going through them, from what I see I don't have the roof ECU so I think I need to get my hands on one of them first and go from there.
Thanks again.

Hi Pablo77, be careful not to get stuck in the 'chicken and egg' problem. This is where you fit an new (working) ECU and it still doesn't function because the faulty motors/switches/wiring/previous owner work damages the (working) ECU and it is now a (not working) ECU. Any you learn nothing, it still just doesn't work

So where do you start? ECU? Check wiring (that one is clearly in need of repair), check the motors?
There are mechanical, electrical and electronic devices that are the Pluriel Roof.
Best advice would be to take photos as you go so you can see how it all goes back together

Probably won't be worth it. Your best chance would be finding a complete roof assembly, or perhaps a custom hard-top?
