Hi,
not long bought a 2004 desire, everything working well after ignition barrel change due to duff pins!
Have heated seat retrofit kit but unsure where to get the main live feed from, I see in the haynes a heated seat fuse under bonnet but unsure where wires run to/from to pick them up, I had thought to use the cigar lighter power as its a 10 amp draw for seat, can anyone help out or suggest a better live feed?
Was going to use the radio switched feed for the switch to relay
Many thanks in advance

Hi there bomberfrog. I would take the heated seat power when its retrofitted from the battery live terminal or that metal terminal that looks like an earth (but its actually 12v live) in the engine bay fuse box (BSM module). Add a fuse with its dedicated fuse holder.bomberfrog wrote:Hi,

This way avoids having to do any programming of the BSI to get the heaters working.

Thanks for the quick reply, could you post a pic of the post? I am not sure what you mean, is there a good place to run a wire through the bulkhead if theres no wire inside to pick up from?
Thanks again in advance

Yes, sorry, I should have done that.bomberfrog wrote:Thanks for the quick reply, could you post a pic of the post?
arrowed.
There are some posts about this on the audio and amplifier topics for running power from the battery/engine fuse box to the cabin and a solution is posted here in the tips section.bomberfrog wrote: is there a good place to run a wire through the bulkhead if theres no wire inside to pick up from?

Perfect! thanks again for the reply and help, I shall give it a go soon, got me a spare seat from scrappers to play with first, can anyone confirm that the airbag and seat belt pretensioners can be swapped without issues with the BSI? i.e not coded to specific car?
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

Yes, airbag and pre-tensioners don't need to be coded to the car if the car already has them. Be careful and disconnect the battery at least to avoid setting those air-bags off.bomberfrog wrote:Perfect! thanks again for the reply and help, I shall give it a go soon, got me a spare seat from scrappers to play with first, can anyone confirm that the airbag and seat belt pretensioners can be swapped without issues with the BSI? i.e not coded to specific car?
