here is an interesting one, my driver side electric window will do up but then drop ever so slightly, no enough that you can see it open, but enough that at 60mph you can hear the wind coming into the car (sometimes you can feel it slightly), what do you guys reckon is the first thing to look at, the rubber where the top of the door card is located, the window seal itself, or do you reckon it could be the motor isn't operating at peak efficiency, i should also mention that my car seems to let in a lot of moisture, ie on a wet day, the drain holes in the door let out a lot of water and my windscreen likes to steam up.
Thanks for reading :)

With the window half up/half down can you lift the window manually (by hand) and feel is it can slop around in the door?

You shouldn't be getting water in like that. I don't get any water from the door drain holes so it sounds like there is a poor window seal?

yeah, the window will wiggle left and right and side to side when open, although they all seem to do that, but the drivers one and the rear ones have more wiggle than the passenger left one does, also the window seals on all the windows feel quite loose :?

oh i forgot to mention, when the dirvers window goes down, it slows right down when it gets near the bottom, almost like its half frozen

This could be the motor worn out or, the window dragging on the runners if its not going down straight. You can also get this if you fit oversized aftermarket speakers in the doors.

It may be time to take the door card off and have a look.

I will go and test a near-by C3 on the same year and see how they wiggle when working correctly.

EDIT: Lots of wiggle movement and the window still goes up and down quickly.

I have had the door card off before as i replaced the door stay clip, and the only out of the ordinary thing i noted was the foam sound proofing has been broken where the speaker was (oe speakers still by the looks of things, it was after that i noticed the window not going all the way up for the first time thinking it was something i did, although there has always been a slight breeze at high speeds tbf, so i did actually remove the door card again at a later date to see if it was slightly out of place, and when testing the window went all the way up and down ok so i refitted the door card, but then 10 minutes later it was doing it again, could it be the door card is pushing against the runner?, if so then im still confused as the door card is on perfectly :?

I've had a few electric windows on older vehicles that play up. Often as the mechanism gets older there's more free play and also stiffness in other parts of the mechanism. Anti trap and closure detection mechanisms which can be simple devices have problems detecting closure and jams as the resistance of the mechanism changes.

One possible solution is silicone spray, applied to the window rubber channels where the glass runs. If it works you may need to repeat every few months but compared to the work and cost involved in replacing parts of the window mechanism its a possible fix that's worth a try.
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all the evidence and pretend you never tried

I gave the window runner that can be accessed through the speaker hole a good clean up with some silicone spray..well furniture polish but close enough and the window doesn't slow down toward the end of its travel anymore, however the windy is still coming through and the window still drops a bit when done up, i think the seal is knackered, as you can see from the picture it moves out of place on its own and i tried to fix it with a dab of uhu but it didn't hold it, i'm sure it wouldn't of helped anyway but it was worth a try, do you reckon i am right? a new seal is needed? if so, will it be a relatively easy thing to do?
