Hey everyone!
I was wondering if anyone knows whether this would work with a 2008 Pluriel or not:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/QCONTRO ... 48878.html
The blade looks to be the same, but I've got no idea whether the chips are of the right kind or not. Just wanted to make sure it'd be ok before I went ahead and bought it.
Will a dealer be able to cut & program it? (I wasn't given any codes when I got my pluriel - And my current key doesn't have a remote on it)...
What should I expect to pay, more or less?
Cheers!

I have had aftermarket keys cut by an auto locksmith. No need to visit the dealer for key cutting from an original.

Never buy a C3 without the code card, without it, you are at the mercy of the dealer and they will end up changing you for a replacement.

If you don't have remote central locking currently, its going to be very expensive to get it working without the code card.

The pluriel should have come with the code card and 2 remote keys :? It must have been very cheap to buy and you pay this back when you replace the missing parts

It was actually one of the more expensive Pluriels I could find  (Could've gotten an earlier, lower-spec, Petrol model for half as much) - I just didn't do a great job of checking all this stuff out when I was buying it...
Despite all it's "issues" I still think it was a great buy! The alternatives were cars along the lines of an '06 Polo or an '07 Panda - Neither of which were anywhere near as cool and exciting! No leather interior, automatic headlights, wipers, or climate control, no frame-less windows, no anti-reflex coating on the windscreen or, obviously, a roof that goes down! Plus they were all higher mileage and older...

Anyway, back on topic - Will the dealer be able to actually give me those codes, assuming I pay for the replacement? Will an auto locksmith be able to program the key provided I have the codes, or does the dealer handle that?

So... I couldn't resist, just went ahead and bought one just like it off eBay :D
Worst case scenario, I'll just have the blade cut & the immobilizer cloned and keep it without the remote ;)
I'll let you know what happens when it arrives

I don't know. You should check that with the dealer. I am sure one call to parts department will sort that one.

There are 3 parts to the key.

Immobiliser, remote central locking and the blade.

An auto locksmith can clone the blade and the immobiliser from your original.

Its possible to do the immobiliser yourself with lexia and some ID46 chips.

To program the remote control the code is required for and auto locksmith or the DIY with lexia. I don't know how much the dealer will charge to replace the code, nothing from the dealer is cheap

Yes, that is what you will probably end up with as the most sensible priced option.

Thanks, it would be interesting to hear how you get on with it all.

I wouldn't put a 06 polo next to an 07 panda and yes, neither of those 2 are exciting or as different as the Pluriel :D
