£200 sounds about right for 2 front springs including fitting and VAT. You may be able to shave this down to £150 for the pair from an independent.samstagmoonyham wrote:it shouldn't be much to get them done if you want to give it one last chance, the previous owner of mine had both springs done in 2011 (they both shattered at the same time i think, and it was about £200 if i recall correctly
Not that I am aware of. Is not only a C3 problem, its the new side load, light weight springs aka 'banana springs'. The advice would be to change them when you do the dampers at 50K then you should be changing them before they break and when the dampers get soft.samstagmoonyham wrote:has anyone on this forum tried to stop the spring issue by fitting aftermarket springs or even coilovers, i'm not sure you can really improve on the C3's handling that much anyway, but they may be less susceptible to snapping than the OE springs
Banana springs can be difficult to remove safely.
