My passenger side (O/S) outer CV joint needs replacing. It clicks on full lock and also makes a loud humming sound when turning otherwise, and also feels very rough when being turned by hand. I previously bought a driveshaft via eBay (new 3rd party component) but when the mechanic tried to fit it it was the wrong size, from memory I think the part of it that went into the gearbox was too long. The mechanic also tried to fit a part sourced from their suppliers (an SKF part I believe) but that was also the wrong size. Looking online there seems to be many different driveshafts available that would appear to fit but are all subtly different. Does anyone know where I can find the exact driveshaft to fit my car, or what exact part no. it should be?

Thanks

Hi TenTonneMackerel , to be sure you will need the VIN from the V5 or the windscreen.

The RPO/ORGA also helps- from the door shut. Find out about the RPO/ORGA plate here.

feel free to PM me with the 2 details if you would like me to look it up.

If things don't fit, they could be fitted incorrectly, the wrong part supplied (correct number on the box, wrong part in the box) or the car no longer has the original gearbox to what is listed with Citroen when it was manufactured.

Thank you so much for your help. I've been banging my head against a wall everytime I have tried to research this the past few months.

That SKF driveshaft you linked seems very reasonably priced, just what I was hoping for :D , so I'll order it and see how things go.
