Hi Guys, i wonder if you can help?

I have major issues with my new citreon c3, I've owned the car for just under 2 years and had some minor issues to begin with which were fixed under warranty. Anyways recently my car alarm started to randomly go off and wouldn't turn off with the key or even when i started the car. Then my wipers started to fail and started to randomly come on on there own and stop half way up my window, took it to a garage who advised its the ECU and it needs replacing and i need to take it directly to citreon for reprogramming. Anyways booked the appointment for a week later with citreon but in the meantime smoke started to come through the air vents. I was extremely worried so took it to Halfords, the damage was much much worst than the ECU. Basically there is a well under my front window screen that water gathers in, and unfortunately it wasn't draining the water and now there is 6 inches of water sat underneath my window in the well. This has then cause water damage on my Alarm motor, my wiper motor, my ECU, my fan and possibly many other things. Citreon seem to think this is a common issue but as its not part of a service for this particular part to be cleaned out regularly i wasn't aware. Just want to know if you have heard of this issue before or if you can offer any advice as its going to cost £3000 minimum to fix.

Hi Becky, welcome to the forum.

Its not known to me to be a common problem, these sort of things shouldn't happen.

I suggest you contact Citroen UK, not a local citroen dealer, but go directly to Citroen UK - you can find contact details on their website https://www.citroen.co.uk. Don't give up if they try to fob you off.

Good Luck!
