Hi, I am new to this forum and hoping somebody can help me

I have a 53 plate C3 which I absolutely love.

Something strange seems to be going on with the central locking and I have tried all the resets I have read about (getting in, all stuff turned off, doing the reset of fob, 1 minute blah blah) and although that appears to work it is shortlived.

When I use central locking when I return to the car the fob wont work at all and when I try to use the key in the drivers door something appears to be in the way of the key so you have to wiggle it in order to get it to go in. Its almost as if the CL has engaged but has stopped half way through so that the key wont go in without a struggle.

I am having to leave it unlocked all the time as it is quite hard for me to get the key in as I have arthritis and nerve problems in my hands.

Desperately hoping someone can help, please??

Thanks in advance, JJ

First thing I'd try with the locking remote is a new fresh battery. The range (operating distance) for unlocking is less then that to lock, its designed like that which could explain why it locks but doesn't unlock.

Your key problem could be as simple as the need for lubrication. Most cars with remote central locking don't see much use of the key/door lock and have a tendency to seize up. Try and get some proper lock lubricant, WD40 will do but can attract dirt inside the lock and also make the key oily.
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all the evidence and pretend you never tried
