Ok got this issue with my car, i had to reuse the old driveshaft so i think it's this.

Certainly seems to be a drive issue, as you can see it's moving the whole engine/box.

Can anyone help?

Hi Huxley309

What driveability issues are you having, or is it making a noise or can you feel a vibration?

Hmm odd, i think youtube has selected to smooth out the video, trust me the whole engine/box is moving with the noise.

Anyway i'll order a new shaft.

Vibration, which gets worse the more power i use, as well as noise though can't really hear it unless outside.

Yes, strange. As you say, quite possibly the drive shaft, or hopefully the drive shaft.

Its worth doing the drive shaft oil seal for the gearbox while you have the drive shaft out and are fitting a new one. Not that its got anything to do with your vibrations though.

Already done, ebay seller didn't state they were for the 8v, and boxes and invoices we're thrown out through no fault of my own [wimmin]

Lesson learned, there's a click, clunk that happens with each rotation, the cv joint is fine so i think something is damaged or worn with the other joint, and i've somehow upset it by whipping it out.

Least i'm getting good at changing the things sigh..........

All done, it was indeed the shaft that was buggered, smother than a baby's bottom now.

Changed it in 40 minutes, that included getting the kit in and out of the shed.

Only problem now is steering is stiff, and abs seems to be intermittent, i did read somewhere that half the car is tied to the abs sensors.

Guess that's me going for the abs box with some contact cleaner.

Hah French cars, you gotta love their quirks.

Right think i've sorted out that little issue, at least for now.....

Tried a bsi reset, that brought back the steering but still had the abs fault.

Looked at the multiplug and it had a nice bag on it, but the whole plug was lagged in grease, obviously trying to protect it from water ingress.

Only trouble is a whole lot of grease seemed to have gotten inside the connector, not sure how far in it went but i'm guessing it was affecting things.
I blasted it with some egr cleaner, wish i had proper leccy spray but didn't, anyway it did a great job of breaking down the grease.

Plugged it back in, fired her up and joy no abs fault, so fingers crossed that's the end of that little saga.

Edit - Well that lasted all of five minutes, grr i'll order new front sensors next week, failing that a lexia reader if necessary.

Did the end of your five minutes cone with moving the car?

The ABS wheel sensor may not flag a fault if the wheel doesn't move, but can when it moves. Whereas the ABS computer self test can flag a fault at any time.

Its not to say wheel sensors ONLY flag faults when triggered.

If the car didn't move, why not try even more egr spray? Maybe it just needs a little bit more cleaning?

I don't think there is so much difference between brake cleaner spray, EGR cleaner spray or electrical contact cleaner spray.

Actually yes, resetting the bsi made no difference, but doing the multiplug did clear it until I drove down the road.
I think my impact gun might be the cause, it's 900lb/ft so has a fair bit of thump, I think the force of this through the shaft or carrier has broken or at least upset one of the sensors.
They're cheap enough so I'll replace both and see what happens.
Failing that I'll be after a lexia reader.
