I have been having the coolant level sensor playing up recently, beeping and red light flashing on the temp gauge. So I purchased a new sensor and tried to replace it in the expansion tank.
I removed the connector, turned it to the left (so pin connector was facing down) and tried to pull it out. However, it does not want to budge.
Is there anything else I need to loosen of a clip I cannot see to loosen it and get the sensor out?

At the moment, I have not had any luck getting the sensor off the bottle. So I have connected it again and filled the bottle up so I could use the car.
If anyone can assist with removing the sensor, it would be much appreciated.

Hi
I have never removed the sensor but if you have the new sensor in your hand can you see how it would be removed?
A quarter turn is my first guess..

Looking at the part it seems to be a quarter quarter turn and then a pull to overcome the o-ring.

The Oring has probably adhered to the expansion tank.
Try and gently pry the sensor out.

Thanks for the reply and the tank picture, it shows me how things go in out of my sight. I have turned it 1/4 turn and I can feel that the one side feels like it wants to come out of the clip, but the other does not. I did try to wiggle/gently force it out but no movement. I will try again and see if it has come loose a bit.
I did look the other day at new tanks and they are not too expensive, if I break it and need a new one.
I think it is jammed, but do not want the car off the road long due to waiting for a new tank

The clear plastic tanks are quite tough and even with a fair bit of levering to get the cap off, I didn't do any damage to it.
The black sensor on the other hand looks like it will just snap if you look at it too long.
